TV Blackout Looms for Space Mission

A TV blackout loomed for Discovery’s high-profile space station construction mission because of a malfunctioning antenna. Without warning, the shuttle’s main antenna began sending garbled data and blurred images. The astronauts tried to solve the problem, but to no avail. Mission Control wasn’t giving up, but officials at the Kennedy Space Center weren’t optimistic that the antenna could be fixed before the 11-day mission ends.
