The former president of the Lang Ranch Elementary School Parent Teacher Assn. was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $3,200 from PTA accounts last year, authorities said Tuesday.

Tracy Ross, 36, was taken into custody Monday after an internal audit revealed discrepancies in the PTA’s financial records, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Senior Deputy Cory Rubright.

“This investigation was started after concerns were raised by officials with the Conejo Valley Unified School District,” Rubright said.

Ross was jailed on suspicion of grand theft and two counts of forgery and then released the same day after posting $10,000 bail, authorities said. She is scheduled to be arraigned next week.

Ross is the second parent in the Thousand Oaks area to be accused of stealing education funds.

Robert Wilson, 52, of Newbury Park was charged late last year in the disappearance of $43,900 from booster club accounts at Newbury Park High School and Sequoia Middle School from 1993 through 1998.
