Conejo Pops Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Elmer Ramsey, will perform “Memories for You” on Friday in Thousand Oaks. The program will include light classics, inspirational songs, patriotic music and American pop classics. Marimba virtuoso Bonnie Boss and vocalist Jim Evans will be featured.

Enduring Songstress

Debbie Reynolds will bring her Las Vegas-style stage act to Thousand Oaks on Saturday for an evening of song and comedy, as well as a multimedia presentation based on her 50-something-year career.

Mariachi Star

Newport Beach’s Jose Hernandez is one of the best-known mariachi bandleaders, producers and arrangers in the world. He will bring his famed ensemble Mariachi Sol de Mexico to Thousand Oaks on Sunday for Pepperdine University’s fifth annual Hispanic Council Mariachi Concert. Also on the bill: Little Joe de la Familia and Japanese mariachi vocalist Junko.

Day of the Dead

Carnegie Art Museum will host “Laughing With Death” on Wednesday. The event marks Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is Thursday. Works by Virginia Ashby Valdez, Xavier Montes, Jose Ramirez and Tony de Carlo will be exhibited. A message altar, storytelling, papel picado (cut paper)-making, live music and refreshments will be included, along with visual art demonstrations focusing on Mexican folk art.
