A community meeting about tree maintenance and sidewalk repair policies hosted by the Public Works Department will be held at the Community Services Building at 7 p.m. Sept. 12. City officials will present the public tree-planting, tree damage abatement and sidewalk repair programs.

The meeting was recently scheduled as the result of a neighborhood petition calling for a review of current policies.

The petition states that some residents believe that the policies are centered on unnecessary tree removal, payment of newly created fees and city liability issues. The petition is an agenda item for the City Council’s meeting Wednesday. Information: (714) 898-3311.
