OUTLOOK
The Eagles have depth, experience and optimism. Having Kenny Valbuena back doesn’t hurt, either. Valbuena started at quarterback as a sophomore but missed most of last season with a deep thigh bruise. His return, coupled with quick receivers, led by Romo, means the speedy Eagles could get yardage in large chunks. There are seven starters returning who are in their third year of varsity play, and five earned all-league honors, led by linebacker Romo and defensive linemen David Rodriguez and Jahid. The Eagles could contend as long as they stay healthy.
