Kent H. Landsberg, 81, packaging entrepreneur who founded and supported a school for the hearing-impaired. Born in Far Rockaway, N.Y., Landsberg attended City College of New York and Stanford University and served as an officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1947, he founded the Kent H. Landsberg Co., which manufactures paper and plastic packaging. Now based in Buena Park in Orange County, the company markets products throughout the United States and Mexico. In 1989, Landsberg received his industry’s Stanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award. In 1997, he was honored with the lifetime achievement award for management leadership from the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management at UC Riverside. A dedicated philanthropist, Landsberg was founder of the Echo Horizon School named for him in Culver City. The school works with deaf and hearing-impaired children. Landsberg was an active supporter of the Los Angeles County Music Center. On Monday in Santa Monica.
