Twenty-six paintings and sculptures by Van Gogh, Picasso, Degas, Cezanne and others went on display this weekend at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, its first art show since casino magnate Steve Wynn’s collection at the resort was dismantled earlier this year following a merger. The art is on loan from the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., through March 4, 2001. Admission is $12. Tel. (702) 693-7898. . . . Carnival Cruise Lines has canceled the Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 Mexican Riviera sailings of its Elation ship out of Los Angeles for what the line called preventive maintenance to replace some parts on the ship’s propulsion system. Five sailings of the Paradise, a Carnival ship with the same model propulsion system, were canceled in July when the system developed problems. Meanwhile, Carnival’s newest ship, Victory, last week embarked on its first regular sailings between New York City and Canada.
