The main opposition candidate in Yugoslavia’s presidential election has said that, if elected, he will not hand over current President Slobodan Milosevic to a U.N. war crimes tribunal, a spokeswoman said. A press officer from Vojislav Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia confirmed that the candidate made the remark in response to a question on a local TV station in the Serbian town of Valjevo. Kostunica has a clear lead in polls ahead of the Sept. 24 election.
