* The Stratford Festival of Canada continues its 2000 season through Nov. 5. Still playing in repertory are “Hamlet,” “The Three Musketeers,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Tartuffe,” “As You Like It,” “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “The Importance of Being Earnest,” “Patience” (through Oct. 13), “Titus Andronicus” and “Elizabeth Rex” (through Sept. 30), “Medea” (through Oct. 1) and “Oscar Remembered” (through Sept. 29). * “Matisse From the Baltimore Museum of Art” runs Oct. 14 to Jan. 14 at the Art Gallery of Ontario, 317 Dundas St. West, Toronto. The exhibition includes 25 paintings, 16 sculptures, 25 drawings and one illustrated book spanning 50 years of Matisse’s career. (416) 979-6648.

* The Toronto International Film Festival begins today and continues through Sept. 16. The festival includes 329 films, 178 of which are world or North American premieres. * “Outrageous,” a new musical by Brad Fraser and Joey Miller, opens CanStage’s 2000-2001 season. Previews run Sept. 19-23, and the show is scheduled through Oct. 21.
