FileNet Names Chief Financial Officer

Sam M. Auriemma has been named chief financial officer of FileNet Corp. in Costa Mesa. Auriemma had been executive vice president and CFO for Wonderware Corp. He was also vice president and chief financial officer for Locus Computing Corp. and has held senior-level management and chief financial officer positions with Distributed Logic Corp. and Applied Circuit Technology.

* Samuel E. Navarro has been named to the board of directors of Micro Therapeutics Inc. in Irvine. He succeeds Wende Hutton, a general partner of Mayfield Fund, an early investor in Micro Therapeutics. Navarro is global head of Health Care Corporate Finance at ING Barings, an international corporate investment bank and part of ING Group, a financial services organization.

New firm--Global Vantage Ltd. in Newport Beach was formed by former executives of Global Capital Markets Inc. and Crocker Capital, which are separate firms unrelated to the new company. An item last Sunday incorrectly described the relationship of the three firms.

Glenn Reindahl and Stephen Murray have been named project managers at the Costa Mesa firm of Andrew L. Youngquist Construction Inc. Reindahl joined the company in 1997 after serving as construction manager at Condiotti Enterprises in Santa Rosa. Murray was previously project manager for Austin/Jones Corp. and a construction manager/field inspector for Pinnacle Management.

* Scott Safriet has been named vice president of business development for AccentCare, an Irvine provider of in-home care services for seniors. Safriet had been vice president, business development for a start-up health care company. Before that, he was a vice president with FHP Healthcare.

* Dennis Benner has been named executive vice president, corporate development for Autobytel.com Inc. in Irvine. Benner was formerly vice president and chief information officer of Fluor Corp.

* Denise Murphy is the new corporate director of marketing and sales at John Laing Homes in Irvine. She was formerly sales and marketing manager for the company’s Orange County division. Murphy has also been vice president of sales and marketing for SeaCountry Homes Inc. in Newport Beach.

* Imelda Ford has been appointed vice president, technology and operations for Capita Technologies Inc. in Irvine. Before joining Capita, Ford held various IT director positions at Cendant Corp. in Mission Viejo.

* Andrea Caillier has been named senior account coordinator at Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder in Newport Beach. She joined the advertising agency in 1999 as an account coordinator. Before that, Caillier was an advertising assistant at Guess Handbags in Los Angeles and a promotional director for Aaron Chang Clothing in San Diego.

* Min C. Tseng has been named vice president of tax for Fluor Corp. in Aliso Viejo. She joined the company from Paper-Pak Products Inc., where she was vice president of tax and treasury. Before that, Tseng was a tax partner specializing in mergers and acquisitions for Ernst & Young LLP in Los Angeles. She also has held senior tax positions with Walt Disney Co. and Security Pacific Corp.

* Frank A. Woolsey has been appointed vice president of construction for Richmond American Homes. He will focus on Orange County operations as well as help direct the formation and operation of a new Norco office. Woolsey was previously director of construction and director of purchasing for Richmond American.

* Dennis Palatov has joined Minds@Work in Irvine as chief technology officer. He previously directed projects at Random Research Inc. and was director of engineering for Xtend Micro Products.

* John Gonzalez and Dhyanesh Bhatt have joined Corbin & Wertz in Irvine as staff accountants in the tax planning and preparation practice group. Gonzalez was formerly with Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corp. in Long Beach and Funny Bunny Inc. in Irvine. Bhatt was previously with Arthur Andersen LLP and Ling, Lee & Pathak CPAs.

* Mary K. Carney has joined Terracon as manager of the facilities engineering services division of the Costa Mesa office. She has nine years of structural design experience.

* John Doyle is the new executive vice president and executive creative director of Y&R; Advertising in Irvine. He had been executive creative director at Publicis/Hal Riney in San Francisco. Before that, Doyle was creative director at Ogilvy & Mather.

* Richard M. Torre is the new chairman of Global Vantage Ltd. in Newport Beach, created through the merger of Global Capital Markets Inc. in Irvine and Crocker Capital Burlingame. Torre had been with Global Capital Markets. J. Jeffrey Morris and Christine Coalson, formerly of Crocker Capital, are president and managing director, respectively.

* Joseph C. Obegi has joined the law firm of Freeman, Freeman & Smiley LLP in Irvine. He was formerly a partner at Obegi & Brewer in Newport Beach. Obegi will continue his practice in estate planning and trust administration.

* Samuel Gulko has been named senior vice president of finance for NeoTherapeutics in Irvine. He retains his positions as chief financial officer, secretary and treasurer. In addition to his responsibilities as NeoTherapeutics’ chairman and chief executive, Alvin J. Glasky was appointed president of NeoGene Technologies Inc., a subsidiary.

* Ove Schuett has been appointed president for Eigner + Partner Inc. in North America, based in Irvine. Schuett joined the company from Engineering Animation Inc. in Southfield, Mich., where he was executive director of industrial sector operations. Before that, Schuett held sales and marketing management positions at Applicon in Germany and the United States.

* Joseph Minsky is the new director of information systems at Western Dental Services Inc. in Orange. He had been on contract assignment for Ernst & Young LLP as technical project lead on behalf of their client, Sprint.

* Brian Hepburn has been named consumer region executive for Bank of America in Orange. He will be responsible for managing the bank’s consumer operations in north Orange County. Hepburn, who joined the bank in 1978 as a teller, was most recently consumer region executive for the Westside of Los Angeles.
