Crew Finishes Work Inside Space Station

Space shuttle Atlantis’ astronauts wrapped up work inside the international space station, leaving the place “pretty homey” for the first permanent crew. Atlantis will cast off from the space station tonight. The approach of Hurricane Gordon bodes ill for Atlantis, which is set to land Wednesday at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center but could stay in orbit until Friday. The seven astronauts installed a treadmill and layed in more supplies for the first full-time residents, set to arrive in six weeks.
