The City Council considered a proposal Monday to install Internet filtering systems on the last two of four computers in the children’s section of the library, but put off making a decision until it meets again next month.
The council voted in December to install software programs on two of the computers with Internet access in the children’s section of the library.
The filters were installed on the two computers in March and parents are required to fill out a consent form for children under 18 stating whether or not they may use the unfiltered computers.
The council asked the library staff to present a report at the next council meeting with additional information on the use of the filtered and unfiltered computers and the cost of adding the filtering software to the remaining computers.
