The Chamber of Commerce and Business Assn. is waiting for the Los Angeles County Flood Control District office to approve a Nov. 4 cleanup effort on the San Gabriel River banks.
If the event is approved, volunteers will pick up trash, including about 28 shopping carts, along a stretch of the channel close to the interchange of the San Diego and San Gabriel River freeways. Chamber President Kim Masoner said that 78 volunteers have already signed up for the project. Information: (562) 799-0179.
