The retail space for the landmark Bookstore on Main Street, known for its kindly former owner and piles of secondhand books, will be leased to a new owner Oct. 15.
A group in charge of a Nathan Cohen trust fund has dropped plans to take over the store and will concentrate on a proposed memorial bench and sidewalk star in Cohen’s honor.
Property owner Jacque Granzella said the new owner plans to maintain the space as a bookstore after renovation.
