Ethel Helen Dale; Former Oxnard City Clerk
Ethel Helen Dale, a former Oxnard city clerk, died at a local convalescent hospital Sept. 15. She was 95.
She was born March 22, 1905, in San Luis Obispo. In 1933, she moved to Oxnard. She was elected city clerk in 1944 and served until 1972. She was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oxnard Public Library for 25 years.
Dale is survived by her son, retired Marine Lt. Col. Denver T. Dale III of Hollins, Va., three grandsons and five great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver T. Dale Jr., and a sister, Bernice Carpenter.
Services were held Wednesday. Donations in her memory may be made to a favorite charity or the Oxnard Public Library.
Arrangements were under the direction of James A. Reardon Funeral Home in Oxnard.
