Even a Rat in a Hat Is Better Than Barney

Mom and Dad, if the kids are tired of watching the same thing on the telly, introduce them to Australia’s most popular children’s personalities, Bananas in Pajamas and the Wiggles.

Identical twins B1 and B2 are the effervescent Bananas in Pajamas. These characters in blue and white striped pajamas live on Cuddles Avenue and play with the Teddies and Rat In A Hat. Bananas in Pajamas originated from a song written in 1967 and then became a children’s television show in 1992 on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. They quickly gained popularity with preschoolers.

The Australians give new meaning to boy bands with the Wiggles, a pop band for kids made up of four male members along with pals Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog. The Wiggles are Australia’s biggest-selling children’s entertainers ever and with recent tours, video and audio releases in the U.S., they could soon become an American household name.
