To promote its new computer network training program, Ventura College will host an open house for prospective students today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the college, 4667 Telegraph Road.

The Cisco Networking Academy Program trains people to design, build and maintain computer networks, said Joan Smith, dean of the School of Business, Industry and Technology.

Visitors can try computer programs and discuss the courses with instructors.

The program includes a blend of college and industry instruction that focuses on technology literacy and trends in computer networking, Smith said. Tuition is $11 per unit, the same as any class within the Ventura County Community College District.
