Forging ahead with its plan to make literacy a primary focus this year, W.R. Nelson Elementary School will hold a family reading night Thursday at 6:30. The Language Arts Committee is sponsoring the event, which is intended to encourage more reading at home.
The family reading program will give parents strategies to use when helping children with nightly reading assignments. It is the first in a three-part series designed to bring parents into their students’ academic lives.
The event will be in the multipurpose room, 14392 Browning Ave. Information: (714) 730-7536.
