Le Colonial Gets a Shot of Be-There

Le Colonial just got happy. A scene vixen tells me promoter Rick Calamaro (for-merly of Cyrano and the once-hot Argyle) recently joined forces with Le Colonial partner Anthony Punnet to bring his Clubland juju to the sweet and lowdown Beverly Boulevard restaurant. So far, that’s translated into a party for Ben Affleck, and recent visits by Leo, David Schwimmer, Mark McGrath and “Cover Me” hottie Cameron Richardson. And you didn’t hear it from me, but Fred Durst is throwing a little soiree there tonight.

Another scene vixen, the lovely go-go-ette Christina Carey, had such success with her monthly Beauty Bar parties that she’s decided to go weekly. That means you can now catch Carey hosting her glam bash, “Peroxide,” every Wednesday at the pretty-in-pink Hollywood bar. . . . Thought I’d ‘bout died and gone to a trippy heaven Saturday night, when I witnessed the Ink Spots open for the Dickies at L.A.’s Valley College. . . . Even more surreal is the Hot Pants lineup on Oct. 14, at the bona fide trippy nirvana, Mr. T’s Bowl in Highland Park. Coming straight outta Sydney, Australia, is Blue Bottle Kiss, which will be joined by Menthol Hill, the Excessories, Rob Zabrecky’s Ghastly Griffith (a super surreal magic show), ex-Pixies drummer David Lovering’s Scientific Experiment and last but not least, Fabio’s Coaster Ride.

Fabio’s Coaster Ride is my new favorite name for a band. It’s only good if you witnessed the news clip where a cheeky chicky came home to roost on Fabio’s face while the dashing He-Man gave a Virginia roller coaster a test run last year. Needless to say, it caused quite a squawk. . . . Clubland’s very own Steve Edelson (of Garage, Martini Lounge etc.) just revamped Zen in Silver Lake and threw a shindig for Meat Loaf, who celebrated his latest flick, “Wishcraft,” at the Japanese restaurant on Sunday. Next up is a big mid-October bash for Kobe Bryant. . . . Lastly, the lovely lasses of Cafe Bleu, the saucy Brit pop club on Thursdays at Tempest, are calling it quits Oct. 19. But don’t put your scooter on blocks just yet. It may return early next year. That’s the news, from the style council.
