The City Council approved a zoning change that will allow nine two-story detached homes from 1,300 to 1,900 square feet to be built on Magnolia Avenue. The property on Magnolia had been zoned as multifamily for construction of apartments. Several other housing developments in Stanton are also being planned, Mayor Al Ethans said. The developments are noteworthy because the city has had little new housing built for about the past 30 years.
