Factor in More Ridicule (Mostly) of Fox’s ‘O’Reilly’

Share

So Howard Rosenberg doesn’t like Bill O’Reilly, of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor” (“O’Reilly’s Ridiculous Factor,” Sept. 25). He thinks that O’Reilly is opinionated, picky and just plain not a good writer.

Well, I have spent several years reading Rosenberg’s adoring ruminations on television’s wasteland, and I have three words for him: Pot. Kettle. Black.

Rosenberg’s critique of O’Reilly was too flattering. He failed to mention his venomously poisonous, hatred-spewing diatribes that he unleashes on the Clintons on his daily TV program.

He and Sean Hannity are “Partners in Grime.” Fox’s slogan should be, “We Report and We Decide.”

Bill O’Reilly is the most sanctimonious bag of hot air on TV. And the worst part, he truly believes that we are so stupid that we will believe he is “fair and balanced.” If it weren’t for Fox, he’d be doing a radio show introducing Rush Limbaugh.

Rosenberg’s “review” of O’Reilly’s book is a clumsy and unfunny attempt at parody. References to “bird doo,” “being in a closet with someone who has just eaten beans” and “snot” are childish and irrelevant.

I’ve enjoyed Rosenberg’s work in the past--this was a disappointment.

Rosenberg let O’Reilly off way too easy. He should have focused on the fact that O’Reilly and Fox News are trying to manipulate viewers to vote Republican instead of focusing on O’Reilly’s silly pet peeves. Who cares about that anyway?

I cannot believe that Fox executives allow this program to continue. O’Reilly’s “talking points” are so right-wing Republican that there is no give-and-take at all. No one ever dares challenge him in conversation because he chews them up with his inability to listen to anything anyone else may have to say. I stopped watching him.

I hope enough people like me abandoning watching that channel will send a message: Low ratings mean no profits.

Note to Howard Rosenberg: You are an elitist simp who hides his lack of intellect behind ridicule.

Note to me: Don’t waste time writing to elitist simps.
