Technician Charged in Bomb Threat Case

A technician at Lucent Technologies Inc. pleaded not guilty to a charge that he threatened to blow up a telecommunications plant in North Andover with a truck filled with diesel fuel and fertilizer after the company said it would cut about 800 jobs there.

A district judge in Boston ordered James Fournier, 32, to stay away from Lucent facilities but he remains in jail on $10,000 cash bail. Fournier faces felony charges of threatening to commit a crime and making a false bomb threat, which carry a maximum sentence of 20 years.
