Analog Devices to Miss Forecast

Analog Devices Inc., which makes high-speed communications chips, said fiscal second-quarter earnings and revenue will be lower than expected because of canceled orders. The company expects earnings of 31 cents to 33 cents a share. Analysts on average were expecting 41 cents, according to First Call/Thomson Financial. Norwood, Mass.-based Analog Devices said it expects second-quarter revenue of $600 million to $620 million, up 3% to 7% from a year ago. Analog Devices shares closed up $3.37 at $42.37 on Nasdaq.
