Serena Fermin of Yorba Linda, Anne Yelsey of Corona del Mar and Lindsey Nelson of Orange advanced to the second round of the girls’ 16s at the Easter Bowl junior tournament in Palm Springs. Fermin and Yelsey won in straight sets; Nelson won in three sets.
Fermin’s sister, Clarissa, reached the second round of the girls’ 14s. Scott Hohenstein of Anaheim lost in the first round of the boys’ 16s.
