From Times Wire Reports

Protestant parade organizers said they had called off a contentious march, the first of the annual “marching season,” through a Roman Catholic enclave that was planned for Monday.

The announcement came after confirmation by the Northern Ireland Agriculture Department of a second case of foot-and-mouth disease on a farm in County Tyrone.

Many events have been canceled in the British province recently to combat the spread of the disease, which affects livestock. It does not affect humans but can be carried on shoes and car tires.
