Celebrating 100 Years of Nobel Prize Winners

Two exhibits celebrating the centennial of the Nobel Prizes open this month in Stockholm and Washington, D.C.

‘Cultures of Creativity: The Centennial Exhibition of the Nobel Prize” is in the Stockholm Stock Exchange, below the chambers where the Swedish Academy meets each year to choose the winners in literature. It focuses on about 30 of the more than 700 Nobel laureates, including American Richard Feynman (physics, 1965). Objects on display range from the Dalai Lama’s pencil to physicist Marie Curie’s scientific instruments. The exhibit is open daily through Aug. 31, 2004. Adult admission is about $5.
