Pacific Crest Trail

I am unhappy with your “Happy Trails for Most Everyone” piece (by Phil Davis, April 5). About 243 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, which extends from the Mexican to Canadian borders, passes through Southern California. But not an inch of the story was devoted to the PCT, which is remarkably accessible in both the Angeles and San Bernardino national forests.
My sense is that the writer was more interested in campgrounds than hiking, anyway.
