Re “Our Conversation Moves to a New Page,” April 13:

It is bad news for O.C. Latinos and non-Latinos that The Times ended Agustin Gurza’s excellent column in such a visible section of your newspaper. Apparently, The Times is not interested in reporting about Latinos. Moreover, it is one more reason to believe that it does not cater to English-speaking Latinos or those interested in the Latino experience and in getting a Latino perspective.

No doubt Gurza will do an excellent job wherever he goes, but obviously his new column not only will have less visibility in Calendar than in the Metro section, but he will lose his potential to make an impact on the social/political views of the readers as a whole.

It is bad news when a major newspaper shuts off Latino voices.
