Infiniti’s redesigned flagship, the 340-horsepower 2002 Q45 sedan, hit dealer showrooms this month with a base price of $51,045 (including $545 destination and delivery charges). That’s about $4,200 less than a comparably equipped 2001 model.

But price snobs need not worry. Torrance-based Nissan North America’s luxury division has provided option packages that can push the price of a new Q45 to $59,045. These include a navigation system, electronically controlled active suspension, power reclining rear seat and electronically controlled rear window sunscreen.
