Share

William Kenneth Webb, a carpenter and fifth-generation Ventura native, has died at the age of 46.

Webb, who died suddenly Saturday at his home in Ventura, was born March 7, 1955.

He graduated from Ventura High School in 1973 and then joined his father and brother, Daniel, building homes throughout Ventura County, the San Fernando Valley and Hawaii.

In 1977, he moved to the Big Island of Hawaii and lived there until 1982, when Kilauea erupted and destroyed homes built by Webb and his brother.

Webb married Dana Lin Convey in 1988, and the couple made Ojai their home. He helped build the Mirror Lake subdivision, which was a family project built on lands from the Mira Monte Ranch.

He loved water sports, surfing and sailing, and had been on a Hawaiian outrigger canoe racing team that raced from Kona to Hilo.

In recent years, he helped his wife operate Old Hat Vintage Clothing in downtown Ventura.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, Eugene and Nadine Webb; two brothers, Daniel of Ojai and Ronald of Clovis; and his sister, Jeanine Luttrell of Paso Robles.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
