Electronic Data Systems Corp., the second-largest U.S. computer-services company, said first-quarter profit rose 18% to $268.1 million, or 56 cents a share, matching expectations, as new contracts to manage other companies’ networks surged. Sales increased 9% to $4.99 billion. The company said it signed a record $7.5 billion in new contracts in the period, up 67% from a year earlier.
