Prescription Plea

Share

Re “Limited Scope in Patients’ Bill,” July 24: I am a widow on Medicare with no health insurance, living on my Social Security check and a small savings account.

When I went to get a prescription filled for the drug Lamisil, it was called to my attention that the cost would be $240 for a 30-day supply. With no health insurance, I could not afford to have the prescription filled.

This prescription, along with many others, is constantly advertised on TV, which results in the high cost to the consumer. I can’t help but wonder how many older people with no health insurance go without medication because of the cost. Someone (our government) has to correct this situation.
