Game Night: Friday, my husband, Dan Finnerty, and I get together with friends to play games. We play Running Charades, where one person has the list of names in one room, and you run in and get a name and act it out for your team, and whoever gets all the names first wins. And we play Celebrity, and the Big Head game, and Essence.

Kid’s Day: Saturday we do something with Samia, who’s 4, like go to the Children’s Museum, or the Aquarium of the Pacific, or to Griffith Park for a picnic or to the carousel or the observatory. Or, we take the dog for a walk in Runyon Canyon. We have a 16-year-old dog, and he’s the only one who walks slower than I do, so I like to take him along.

It’s All About the Salsa: My favorite foods are Mexican and Lebanese, so that’s where we’d head for lunch. For Lebanese, there’s Pita Pita in Pasadena and the Mediterranean Cafe in Studio City. I grew up in San Diego, with a Mexican restaurant on every corner, so I like that down-home Mexican food with real refried beans, and Casa Vega is the place for that. But mostly wherever I go, it’s for the chips and salsa.

Talented Friends: My husband has a band, the Dan Band, and they have shows twice a month, so I love going to see his show. I see all my friends there and see his performance, and he’s hilarious. Kathleen Wilhoite is also a good friend. She has two albums out, and whenever she plays we’ll go see her.

Spontaneous Vacation: One of my other favorite vacations is something my husband thought up. We get in the car with our daughter and our dog and a few clothes, and we just drive. We have no plans. None. Last time we stopped in Laguna Beach and found a hotel and stayed for two days. Another time we wound up at Legoland for nine hours.
