Fuzzy Budget Math

Is anything more ridiculous than this? I received a tax rebate check for $300 in the mail the other day. I deposited it. What else am I going to do with it? But I didn’t deserve it. I paid the right amount of taxes for the year 2000. I gave that money to my government in good faith that it would spend it wisely. Instead, it gave it all away and will now replace it with loans we’ll have to pay interest on. If I conducted my own finances in this manner, I’d be in the poorhouse, no matter what my annual salary is. What an embarrassment. This is why I didn’t vote for you, George.
