Los Cerritos Wetland Cleanup
It was so wonderful to read your story about Lennie Arkinstall, the man who has made it his personal mission to clean up the Los Cerritos Wetlands (Aug. 7). At a time when our own president won’t take action against global warming because it would impinge on the bottom line for his business cronies, along comes Arkinstall, who not only works tirelessly to restore the environment but does it free! This man takes action simply because it is the right thing to do. Mr. Bush, I hope you’re a Times reader. You could surely learn a thing or two. Integrity, it seems, is not dead after all--at least not in Los Cerritos. Thank you, from all of us, Mr. Arkinstall.
