* Rexhall Industries Inc., a Lancaster-based maker and retailer of motor homes, reported an 81% plunge in second-quarter earnings, citing the economic slowdown and excessive inventory. Net income fell to $251,000, or 8 cents a share, compared with $1.3 million, or 42 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 20% to $36.4 million.
* Emergent Information Technologies Inc. in Newport Beach posted net income of $124,000, or 1 cent a share, for the second quarter, compared with a year-ago net loss of $285,000, or 2 cents, which included a $2.5-million loss from discontinued operations. Revenue declined 12% to $27.6 million.
