Bakers from the central Italian town of Orentano showed their love for Ferrari when they unveiled a ready-to-eat likeness of a racing car.

Built with 40,000 cream pies and decorated with almond paste, custard cream and chocolate, the 5 1/2-yard-long confectionery version of Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari racing car was created by 50 pastry chefs. The German driver clinched his fourth Formula One title by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The mayor of Maranello, the central Italian town near Bologna where Ferrari is based, was scheduled to open festivities in Rome at midnight, when fans will be able to dig in to the mega-dessert.
