Chestnut Bread

Man Mi Bakery in Koreatown makes an unusual sweet bread that contains sliced chestnuts instead of fruit and a scattering of tiny, bright green beans that look almost Christmasy, although the bread is pleasantly light for hot weather. Sliced and toasted, it’s nice with coffee. Check the counter display for other interesting baked goods, including additional sweet breads, bean cookies and an astonishingly tall, soft loaf of plain bread.
