Condit Interview

Re “ABC’s Chung Lands Condit’s First Interview About Levy,” Aug. 21: What a bunch of sheep we are, bowing to Rep. Gary Condit (D-Ceres) as he decides who is worthy enough to interview him now that he has figured out all the angles. Anyone whose “good friend” had disappeared would have been on the phone to the parents immediately, not only to help in the search but to show his concern for her and the distraught family. Are we so hard up for news that this sort of behavior is tolerated, or even worse, sought after?
