9th Circuit Reinstates Suit Against CHP Officer
From Times Staff Reports
A federal judge Wednesday reinstated a lawsuit filed by a woman who alleges that she was sexually harassed by a California Highway Patrol officer on her way to Orange County Jail in 1997.
Judge Betty Fletcher of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a lower court’s dismissal of the civil rights allegations in Mia Fontana’s case was “in error.”
The case now goes back to the U.S. District Court in Santa Ana.
