Patient Advocacy

Share

The vital role played by a good nurse in patient care cannot be overemphasized (“Nursing Is What Needs the Cure,” Commentary, Aug. 13). However, after five, 10 or whatever hours of brain, spine, heart, trauma or any surgery, it seems rather nearsighted to me to hear that nurses are patient advocates.

All well-trained and motivated medical providers play a vital role in a patient’s care, well-being and the saving or preserving of lives.
