Conference to Look at Local Apartment Market

UCLA’s Real Estate Center will present its annual look at the Southern California apartment market at the university’s Multi-Family Housing Forecast Conference on Sept. 13 at the Anderson School at UCLA.
The event, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., will focus on the opportunities and challenges facing those who own, build, develop, manage or invest in apartment buildings. Speakers will include industry and community leaders, government officials, property owners, developers, capital providers and academics.
Keynote speaker will be C. Preston Butcher, chairman and chief executive of Legacy Partners, who will discuss meeting California’s housing challenge through private initiative.
Stephen Cauley, associate director of the real estate center and an authority on the Southern California apartment market, will deliver a forecast designed to assist investors and developers in making decisions about buying, selling and developing apartment properties.
Industry experts will lead sessions on financing, niche opportunities and NIMBYism.
