Hyatt Opens Its First Hotel in Beijing

Hyatt International Corp., which runs six hotels in China, is opening its first one in Beijing, complete with parking for 12,000 bicycles.

About 200 of the 591 rooms at the Grand Hyatt Beijing have been opened; the rest are to open by April. Already available are the Club Oasis (a spa with swimming pool, a “virtual sky with different weather phenomena,” gym and massage rooms) and two of the four planned restaurants.

The hotel, at 1 Chang An Ave., is part of Oriental Plaza, China’s largest commercial complex. Rooms have broadband TV, high-speed modems and movies on demand. Introductory rates, through February, start at $158 per room, double occupancy. (800) 633-7313, www.hyatt.com.
