Sheriffs around the state are changing the screws on jail windows after a convicted killer removed a visiting booth window and escaped.

DeCarlos Young, 24, escaped from the Milwaukee County Jail on Dec. 6, allegedly with the help of his girlfriend, authorities said.

Authorities said the pair used a small plastic screwdriver with a special tip to remove the screws, then remove the window from the visiting booth. Young went through the window, changed clothes, put on a wig and walked out with the woman at the end of visiting hours, authorities said.
