Reading “Wheelin’ on the Natchez Trace” (Nov. 25) was such a delight we had to write and say that cycling on the trace is every bit as wonderful as Kathryn Wilkens says, and then some.
About a half-dozen years ago four of us, then in our 60s, biked the Natchez Trace on our own. We averaged 50 miles a day, including getting off to stay in motels. It was an extraordinary ride, and we owe a debt of gratitude to our government for preserving this wonderful part of our national heritage.
