Terrorist Financing Database to Be Created
From Times Wire Reports
The government is working with the international police agency Interpol to create a database of people and organizations suspected of financing terrorist activities.
The Treasury Department’s undersecretary for enforcement, Jimmy Gurule, said the database could be ready within 60 days.
The initiative with Interpol was forged last week while Gurule was in Europe meeting with U.S. allies.
Gurule said the database would essentially consolidate various lists of suspected terrorist financiers.
