Daily Grill Restaurant Chain Names Chief Financial Officer

* Grill Concepts Inc., the Los Angeles-based operator of the Daily Grill restaurant chain, has appointed Daryl E. Ansel chief financial officer. Ansel succeeds Ben Sumner, who, since his retirement as chief financial officer, serves as a consultant to the company. Most recently, Ansel served as food and beverage finance manager for Universal Studios, where he was responsible for the financial management of all restaurants and food kiosks within the company’s Hollywood theme park, as well as Universal’s catering and amphitheater food service operations.

* Bell Industries Inc. of El Segundo has announced several new management team members. Mitchell Rosen, a former senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been named vice president and corporate controller. At the Bell Tech.logix unit, Dan Taylor, formerly of MarchFirst, has been named managing director for strategic services; George Cannon will direct technical services for the Midwest region; and Brad Karch has been named vice president of human resources.

* Jim Packer has been named executive vice president, television sales, North America at MGM Worldwide Television Distribution. He will be responsible for the licensing of all MGM programming to North American broadcast outlets. Packer is a former executive at Buena Vista’s television distribution unit.

* Regional investment firm Sperry Van Ness said Brad Umansky has joined its Ontario office as vice president specializing in retail property sales. He is a former executive at Lee & Associates in Ontario.

* IMPCO Technologies Inc., based in Cerritos, has tapped Roger Burrows to head the sales and marketing efforts for industrial products. He is a former Spartan Motors Inc. vice president.

* Boston Consulting Group, a general management consulting firm, said Mark Lubkeman has joined the firm as a Los Angeles-based vice president. He comes from the Monitor Co.
