Helene Keyssar, 57, author, producer and educator in film, theater and television. A New Yorker educated at Brown and New York State universities and the University of Iowa Writer’s Program, Keyssar had taught communications at UC San Diego since 1980. Among her books were “Feminist Theater,” published in 1985, and “Robert Altman’s America,” in 1991. In the 1980s, Keyssar pioneered the first live interactive television programs with the Soviet Union, producing the 1984 local PBS show, “Moscow Calling San Diego: Children and Film.” On Monday in San Diego of cancer.
