He had appeared to snap out of a midseason slump with 10 points and five rebounds in 24 minutes against Portland. However, Elton Mashack’s sprained ankle is improving. He played 31 minutes in the Lions’ loss Saturday to Gonzaga. Santa Clara forward Steve Ross burned Loyola for 22 points in the Broncos’ 78-70 victory on Jan. 13.
