Taking Responsibility

There is nothing more ridiculous than reading that an immature and bored 13-year-old boy blames television for burning himself while trying to imitate a stunt (“Stunt Copycats Put MTV in a Spot,” by Robin Rauzi, Feb. 2).

Even if Jason Lind or his friends did not have the common sense to know about the repercussion of dousing himself with gasoline and lighting himself on fire, he could have heeded the verbal and written warning aired before every single show of MTV’s “Jackass.”

Why should the blame be put on “Jackass” for Lind’s stupidity? We are always taught to take responsibility for our actions.
